First Light

First light

The new day's creeping to life

Slipping past the last edge of night

Another chance

One more dance

With another day

Use it

As you see fit

Or lose it ...

The sun reveals

The shadows hide

Time steals

Yet still I abide

To watch the interplay

As the day chases ever closer to the night's velvet surprise

Till at last twilight softly falls

Watching the sun's beautifull demise

Night arrives with a whispered call

Dark Night's Display

How silent is the night as the hours drift away

How lonely it is as each hour adds upon another and sleep is not found

The stars though are happy to shine forever

I watch as they waltz the heavens and I admire their freedom

The Moon seems to doze sleepily and I wish I could join in

But Morpheus denies me respite

I have naught but the night sounds to keep me company

The wind in the trees whisper a quiet lullaby in concert with a few lonely crickets

Sounds as simple and beautifull as any composer could ever write

Slowly the night sky fades from black to deepest midnight blue

Dawn will come soon, this I know and still sleep is denied to me

The night moves on and the sky lightens with the first pale rosey blush of Sunrise

Eyes heavy lidded now at last close with the first piercing red gold of the Sun and a new day

My last thoughts are of the next rise of the Moon in the darkened sky

It makes me wish sleep would elude me again

So I could see another dark nights display

Hurry and Linger

Count them up

Day by day

Once lived, forever gone

Yet another takes its place

But still life is but a race

From sunset to dawn

Birth to death

Your first and last breath

Hurry up life, I've got things to do

Slow down life, the days are far too few

Count them down

Day by day

Once lived, forever gone

There's one less to take its place

Far too quickly we begin to lose that race

The sun sets, time to move on

At the end there's only death

Linger, linger, hold on to that last breath

Once gone, what do I do?

What's nextt?

No one has a clue

Deja Vu

     

　

In the dark corner of a little cafe

I sip a cup of tea and watch the shadows play

Peek a boo upon your face

You have no idea I am watching you or how you make my heart race

I cannot decide if I should reveal myself to you

Perhaps it is better that you havn't a clue

To remain ignorant and innocent of my gaze as I study those lips, those eyes

Perhaps I remain hidden out of hubris or perhaps I am simply shy

I smile as I watch your gaze stray here and there

Those eyes have such depth and evoke a soul laid bare

I see that look go distant, as if you were miles away

Those lips part, as if they were about to say

Then just as quickly the look disappears

I drink the dregs of my tea, wondering should I even be here

I toss money on the table knowing now I must be leaving

Feeling at best it's only myself I am deceiving

I make myself invisible as I walk past

But for an instant I glance into your eyes now upcast

For that one sweet moment, in that Fated chance

You truely see me in that split second glance

Then I am beyond your point of veiw

Leaving you a little puzzled and with a feeling perhaps of Deja Vu
